South Park is a television serial having blend of humor and satire. Humor in this serial is of black type. The black humor is the one which makes fun in crude way about the reality faced, in other words real situation getting the taste of bitterness (no sugar coated) and satire. In serial South Park, four kids Cartman, Kenny, Kyle and Stan are always ready to joke about each other. Kyle jokes about Cartman being fat. Cartman jokes about Kenny being poor. All the characters have joke to play and takes satire to a different level. The serial’s deep satire at times is terrific, crude (very true) and memorable. The characters in the serial compliment each other making each episode very funny and hilarious. If anyone is in search of cartoon to laugh then ‘South Park’ may be the one, though not every one will like such type of humor. This television show has become an award-winning show, all because of sustaining through the time and the quality of humor and satire it brings with it. Many of the viewers has rated this show as one of the best TV shows ever made in the history of television.

The probable truth behind the rough humor in South Park
March 4, 2010 | No Comment

It is no doubt that South Park has gained an exciting amount of audience since its release in the television industry, but due to its direct and crude humor, it has also lost some of its regular significant users. A lot of disgusting scenes such as characters dying in amusing ways, downbeat parody of politicians and loathsome remarks on popular artists are quite common in South Park and are found hilarious by most of the spectators. However, they don’t really know, neither they realize where the fun is really coming from.

South Park

Dante, a poet from Italy who existed in the late 13th century, had written a classic poem “The Inferno” in which he described how his associates and acquaintances suffered sentences in hell for their wrong-doings during their life in an ironic way, of course in his visit of an imaginary hell. For instance, those who passed false flattered remarks to others in Dante’s life were punished to swim a sea of human dung for all the time to come, because their obsequiousness was nothing but a “load of filth.”

South Park viewers must agree with me on this point that the show does reflect some of the qualities of The Inferno and although the serial has had some negative reports, it is highly successful on making its watchers laugh. Some reviewers might think that the famous are simply ridiculed to make the play nasty, but according to an opinion, the writer might be loathing them for a wrong-doing or an offense that they might have committed. Famous individuals like Mel Gibson, John McCain, Glen Beck, Bill O’Reilly, George Clooney and many others have been mocked in various episodes of South Park according to their real-life behavior and most celebrities and politicians are the ones who the masses respect. All of this matches with what Dante originally wrote and that also was intended to make people laugh. To viewers looking from a different angle, this walking into Dante’s shoes might seem more than just simple crude humor.
